Yanet received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Irvine where she double majored in Criminology, Law & Society and Economics. Upon graduating she completed an internship in Washington D.C. at the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America.
Yanet is a local to the area and decided to return home after her internship, during which she worked during the day and attended law school at night. While attending law school, Yanet interned at the Santa Barbara Teen Legal Clinic where she assisted minors facing issues such as emancipation, guardianship, suspension and behavioral contracts. Through this work, Yanet developed an interest in defending individuals accused of alleged wrongdoing and pursued a career in defense law. She received the Witkin Award for Academic Excellence in recognition of her performance in law school courses. Yanet received her Juris Doctor from the Colleges of Law, Ventura campus in 2022.
In her free time, Yanet enjoys reading a good book, bike riding, painting, traveling, and trying out new board games.
