Charles received his undergraduate degree in Political Science in 1973 from St. John’s University in New York, and then earned his law degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles in 1984.
Early in his career, while working with the Social Security Administration, he determined insurance eligibility and investigated fraud claims, and was a liaison with community advocacy groups. Charles has a diverse background in civil litigation including personal injury, products liability, real property disputes, insurance bad faith, and professional malpractice.
He is a member of the California, New York and District of Columbia bar associations. Since 1984 Charles has handled lawsuits in most courthouses in the greater Los Angeles area and has tried numerous cases to verdict.
He worked with Mr. Schaeffer for many years before SCHAEFFER COTA ROSEN LLP was formed, bringing with him a proven track record of high-quality representation of clients in the medical field. Charles specializes in representing physicians in medical negligence and elder abuse cases, as well as Medical Board matters. He is a tried and true litigator with a well earned reputation for aggressive and ethical representation of his clients.
